1. COVER YOUR FURNITURE AND FLOOR:

2. WASH YOUR WALLS:

After you have made sure that all your imperfections are covered, it may be necessary to sand those areas. Sanding will provide a smooth surface that evenly blends with the rest of the wall.
5. PRIME YOUR WALLS:
If you already have a glossy paint on your walls, you can skip this step. However if you painting over an oil based paint or semi gloss pain you will need to apply primer. You should always apply primer to the walls that you have spackled.
6. TAPE AROUND ALL CORNERS:
Apply duck tape all corners of the walls and ceilings. Isolate the area you are going to paint with tape. Make sure to cover light switches, door knobs with tape in order to avoid scrapping it off later.
7. WHILE PAINTING, REMEMBER SAFETY GEAR:
This point is especially important if you are expecting a child or already have a child.
